Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) powerhouse Roman Catholic returns four starters from last year’s 26-3 PCL Championship team. Led by 6’7” senior forward Shareef Jackson (Lafayette), the Cahillites are expected to compete once again for top honors in the PCL and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association. Roman heads to Palmetto Bay, Florida at the end of December to participate in the Junior Orange Bowl Basketball Tournament before getting their always-tough PCL schedule underway.
Other players to watch this season are 6 '2 Senior Sebastian Edwards, 6' 5 Senior CJ Miller, 6’5” junior Sammy Jackson and Sophomores 6’2 Tyler Sutton and 6 '2 Elijah Guer. Roman alumni currently playing Division I basketball are Xzayvier Brown, reigning Atlantic Ten Conference Rookie of The Year and Anthony Finkley (St. Joseph’s University), Lynn Greer III (Temple), Dan Skillings (University of Cincinnati), and Khalil Farmer (Hofstra).

Athletically, Roman offers seventeen varsity sports and intramural programs that teach young men the values of preparation, teamwork, commitment and humility. The varsity basketball program participates in the Philadelphia Catholic League and has a league record 34 PCL Titles. Additionally, Roman Catholic has won four Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association State Championships and has seen 13 of their graduates play in the NBA.
