For over 50 years, St. Raymond High School for Boys has provided a Christ-centered and relationship-centered education to over 9,000 young men who forever call themselves Ravens. St. Raymondfaculty provide a caring environment in which
students receive the highest quality education. Faith, Scholarship, Service and Community are therefore hallmarks of a St. Raymond education and make our school a truly unique environment where young men are prepared to become responsible,
well- educated, faith-filled leaders in our world.
With permission from Francis Cardinal Spellman, the school’s rich history began with the foresight of Msgr. Corrigan who realized that the children ofthe neighborhoods around St. Raymond parishneeded a quality, Catholic high school
education. The purpose of the founding program was to allow young men the opportunity to continue their Catholic education past middle school and offer them an additional year of support from their parish.
In the spring of 1959, St. Raymond High School for Boys and St. Raymond Academy for Girls were born. St. Raymond High School for Boys was formerly a Con Edison maintenance building purchased by the parish for approximately $1 million
dollars. The Brothers of the Christian Schools were then tasked by St. Raymond Church to provide a quality, Catholic education,in the spirit of St. John Baptist de LaSalle, to the boys who would soon be called Ravens. In the fall of 1966, a
high school which was initially established for primarily for the boys of St. Raymond Parish, expanded and opened its doors to young men of other neighborhoods. In 1996, St. Raymond High School for Boys was awarded the National Blue Ribbon
School of Excellence Award at the White House.
The school features a beautiful campus chapel, state-of-the-art library, science lab and offices, and a gymnasium that boasts a sky lounge, premiere locker rooms, work-out room, and batting cages. St. Raymond is accredited by the Middle
States Association of Colleges and Schools the North Central Association Commission in AdvancedEd. St. Raymond provides a first-class Catholic education, highlighting new and innovative academic and technological programs in a caring and
supporting educational environment.
